The vacation of a Lifetime, part 4

This will be the final post sharing about our trip to Mexico. It feels like forever ago! It's been about 6 weeks since our trip, but the memories still feel fresh. It was such a special time and I am so thankful to my parents for providing it for us. Our times as a family are precious to me and I pray we are able to have many more vacations together!
The last part of our trip that I wanted to at least share a little about is the entertainment and show part. A lot of these will have to be video clips so you can see what the excitement is/was all about! Every night at 8, the resort had a special kid's disco time. Every night was different. They always played a game for just kids, had a special dancing time, and just made the kids feel included. Plus, it was a great time for the adults to get a little break from being hands on and just watch them all have fun together. Here is an example of the game time from the first night.
And the dancing <3 p="">
They learned this song very well by the end of the week :)
They did so many fun things with the kids, but the night they had the kids dress up was so special! They called it a fashion show and did a special presentation of each child. Made me tear up! They came out twice, once in their regular clothes, and once dressed up.
Tyler
he is so shy! Love him!
Megan
her smile could not have been bigger! This is right up her ally!
Morgan
Her Little Mermaid outfit made me laugh
Here's all the kids together! I LOVE how they integrated so many different languages for the kids. The exposure to other cultures and backgrounds is a priceless gift that I didn't even take in to consideration when we were preparing to go on this trip. However, its one that will forever be etched into my children's memories. They made friends that didn't even speak their language. It was a wonderful chance for them to realize the true beauty of the human race.
The games they had for the adults were ALWAYS hilarious.  They would pull people from the crowd and you had no idea what you were getting pulled in for! Thankfully, I was only called up there once!  Tim and Joanna were great sports for this funny game!
This was by far the most hilarious though. Zach apparently needs to work on his Spanish!
We didn't always stay for the shows because they were just so late for the kids after a long day of sun and fun. However, Broadway Night was not a night I was going to miss!  It was my favorite by far! They did little snip-its from so many of my favorite plays/musicals. Here are a few examples.
The Lion King
Grease
Phantom of the Opera
Cats
Another night that I enjoyed was the last night we were there. It was Mexican folklore night. They did dances from the different areas of Mexico where they are/were popular. Really cool!
Unfortunately, I was so tired that I started to fall asleep before it was over and so I didn't get to see the end.

I could share so much more from our trip. I have hundreds of pictures and videos and more memories than I could count. It truly was a trip of a lifetime and I can't thank my parents enough for the gift of such an amazing vacation. I'm not sure we will ever top it!

The vacation of a lifetime, Part 3

So while eating and enjoying the animals was certainly a big part of our week, the majority of our time was either spent on the beach, or pool side!  The ocean (specifically the Caribbean Sea) was a lot more refreshing than the pool and definitely amazingly beautiful!

The kids, minus Ryan, got to enjoy "Kid's Club" most days. They made tie dye shirts, played at the beach, did crafts, and just had a blast. They also made new friends from England, Argentina, and Mexico, to name a few.  Really a neat experience for them!

But unfortunately, Ryan missed the age cut off by 6 weeks. However, that means he got the attention of all the adults. He got "strawberry drinks" (alcohol free strawberry daiquiris), ice cream, and mommy and daddy to himself. I think he would agree that he was living the life. :P
  Poolside fun

So sweet!!
They had pool games every day and they were one of my favorite things about the pool! I enjoyed watching people mostly. haha! Here is Megan trying her hand at throwing a Frisbee through these tubes.  Great try Megan!
Pretty sure that Marisa tried each game they had and she won this kayak race! Joanna was one of the finalists as well! I have awesome sisters! :)

(I tried to upload a video of Joanna's and it wouldn't let me for some reason!)

Another little clip of Tyler and Megan doing their tricks
I'm not sure where Joanna got Lakyn's dress, but I got Megan's at a mom to mom sale and we discovered that we had the same one so we had to have at least one night of matching dresses!  The girls were definitely a fan!
I enjoyed getting dressed up in the evenings to go to our dinner reservations at the various restaurants. I think I have a pretty good lookin' crew! ;)
The kids usually woke up early and were in bed late each night. This made for pretty tired kiddos every night!
Tyler had the worst sunburn of the week. He made the decision to take off his sun shirt and applied sunscreen to wet shoulders and back that didn't work, at all. It resulted in a super painful, almost blistered burn :(
He definitely learned a valuable lesson!

I started this blog post a month ago and am just now finishing!  Ugh!  I am terrible at this!  I still have at least one more part to go before I am finished so I wonder how long this one will take? :P
