Painting the House

So, upon buying our house, we knew that we would have to paint it sometime this spring/summer. We have been dreading it ever since. Well, we have officially started the long process. Each one of the cedar siding pieces has to be caulked to prevent water damage.

Then everything has to be brushed off real good and then the painting can officially begin. We decided that we wanted to paint it blue (our choices were blue or yellow) and so we picked a color called "open seas" I thought it was going to be too dark, but as you can see below, I was wrong.

This first strip was so scary!

We thought about leaving it like this but we thought the neighbors wouldn't be too happy with us

One side done...what do you think? too bright? too blue? tell us before we paint the rest of it!

You can see the contrast here between the old gray and the new blue.

At least Noah like it!

It actually is growing on me...I think I am starting to like it a little bit more each time I go out to look at it. We will be painting more on Saturday weather permiting so make sure you let me know before then what you think about the color! I have 2 don't like its and 2 like its so far...(that was horrible English but I can't figure out how to say it any other way)

Carr Family Mini-Reunion

Tim and I drove down to my parents house in West Virginia this past weekend. Saturday, my dad's cousin was going to be hosting a mini Carr side of the family reunion. I'm not sure how many were there, but we had fun and were able to see family that Tim had never even met before. I didn't take many pictures though, so here are the few I have.

Andrew learning to walk :)

Andrew with my grandmother (my Dad's mom). In the background is my second cousin, Todd and his daughter (not sure which one, he has twins!)

Andrew had a really rough time learning to share and REALLY didn't like that she had a bottle and he didn't!

Not fair, there's two of them! Yeah, we all began to see that Andrew might end up getting "does not play well with others" when he goes to school... :)

Finally, playing nice :)

We definitely had a good weekend and it was really good to be able to see and spend time with my family. My sister, Stephanie was even able to come up from Florida! She is due in September so it was fun to see her starting to get really pregnant! And of course, as is evident by my pictures, I got to see and spend time with my 10 month old nephew, Andrew who is getting SO big!

No More White Walls!

When we bought our house back in February, all of the walls were painted white...I mean as white as you can get, white. Unfortunately, all of the walls are STILL white, except for our guest "duck" bathroom which we finished painting early last week. Its not that big of a deal, but I think it makes a huge difference in the appearance of the bathroom! We were excited anyway. Here's some before and after pictures for your enjoyment.

Timmy's Photoshoot

My friend Lori had been asking me for weeks to take pictures of her son, Timmy, for his two-year shots. He turned two back in June. Anyway, just this past Monday (a week ago) I finally was able to coordinate our schedules to take pictures for them and this is what we came up with, with some editing of course. :)

So, I am thinking about setting up a photoblog so that people don't get tired of looking at pictures of people/kids they don't know on this site. Any ideas for a cleaver name? My best idea is "MadeInHisImagePhotography"

Puerto Rico Mission Trip 2008

Here is a video I threw together to kind of show what all we did and what we were able to do while in Puerto Rico. I was initially making this one to show in church Sunday but then I was told that it could only be 3-5 minutes max...so I have a lot of work to do now to get it shorter but I almost had this one done when I was told that so I went ahead and finished it. :) I think I did pretty good considering I took over 480 pictures and was able to get it down to a little over 100 slides :) Anyway, hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think! I need to learn how to make them better!
