Baby's Room semi-completed

Tim has been working hard and finished putting the polyurethane on the crib and then also refinished the top of my old dresser (it had some scratches on it that needed buffed out). So, just tonight we were able to put the room together a little bit, hanging up the curtain, decorative pillow things, etc. I haven't had a baby shower yet (have one scheduled for Sunday!! yippee!!) so the room is still in need of some necessities. Anyway, enjoy seeing a work in progress!! :)

This is looking into the baby's room from just outside the door

I love my log crib!! I hope the baby does too!

The window valance has been a bust so far...I need help in trying to get it to look less awkward. It actually came with two of them, so I have a lot of material to work with, just no creativity.

The pink chair clashes a bit..but hey, it was free! :)

Thanks, Babe for all your hard work to get all this stuff done!!

Our new car!!

After 2 1/2 months since I totaled the matrix, Tim and I finally are finished with our research and searching and we have purchased a new to us vehicle, a Toyota Highlander. We are both excited about it and are so glad to finally have this whole process completed! The car is in near perfect condition and has only 33,000 some odd miles on it, which is great for a used 2006. I would describe the color as a "stormy cloud blue." Difficult to explain the color...grayish blue? Anyway, here are some pictures for your enjoyment...or maybe just for my pride. :) Its my new baby! Until May that is. ;)And a couple interior pictures taken from the dealers website...

Horray!!!

Last pretty day for awhile...

So I am afraid that today is the last pretty and warm day we are going to have for awhile so of course, I had to get outside and check out my flowers and just enjoy the sun. I also happen to be babysitting 1 and 2 year old brothers, so ended up taking more pictures of them than my flowers. Oh well. I can't wait till spring is here to stay instead of the probable snow we are expecting in the next couple days. Oh, and the pictures don't exactly show the boys having a good time...they didn't seem to want to smile for me, but I promise, they have had fun while their parents have been gone the last couple days!

Sorry about the mud and grass stains on his knees Lori!

I planted these tulips when I was early in pregnancy...they were cheapo bulbs from Sams Club and they all came up! I was so pleased. They are just now actually starting to bloom. There are other flowers beside them called scillas (sp?) that are supposed to be blue...so it was supposed to be pink and blue for our upcoming baby! However, the blue ones are pretty disappointing and not near as pretty as the picture. The hyacinths in the background were given to us by my parents when we lost our baby last year and I was so pleased that they too came up and smell so wonderful!

Sometimes, you just have to stop to pick and smell the flowers (or weeds)

Luke tried to eat one...are they poisonous?

Tim and I planted this pear tree shortly after we moved in last spring...it has beautiful little buds on it...I can't wait till its a bigger tree and is FULL of these!

Anyway, thats all I have...the time outside was cut a little short by 2 very cranky and tired little boys who are starting to get homesick. So, I promptly brought them inside and both were asleep within 5 minutes.
