Miracle #2

We found out November 8th that Tyler was going to be a big brother!! New Baby Schramm is due July 17th, 2010. We are so blessed to have another little miracle from the Lord and are so excited about all He has in store!!

We took a picture like this with Tyler so we just had to do it again. I told Tim to show whatever his first reaction was...obviously, we had different reactions! :)

There was no doubt it was positive...it was positive before I even set it down!

6 weeks 3 days..amazing to see the little heart beating in the middle of this blob!!

I hate that they call it a "fetal pole." It is nothing but a little baby!!!

9 weeks 6 days measuring at a whopping 30mm :)

Tyler in his first "big brother" shirt. I got it the day we found out on major clearance at Gymboree. It says "Big Bro 09."

Christmas 2009

Tim and I celebrated our Christmas as a family on Christmas Eve this year. It was definitely different than normal to have a little one. I can definitely see how Christmas could easily become centered on Tyler and the rest of our kids some day and I really don't want that to happen. I ALWAYS want to strive to maintain the REAL reason for Christmas. I think this will be a struggle each year. Tim started our morning by reading from Luke 2 and then we opened presents and had a delicious breakfast.

Then it was off to Grandmother's house we go! Well, Tyler's grandmother anyway. We actually headed straight to the church I grew up in for their annual Christmas Eve service. It was great seeing "old" faces and catching up with those who invested so much in to my life. It was a special treat to be able to sing with my sisters like old times. I wish we could be together more so that we could have more time to sing together.

We used to sing on the way home from church. It was a 30 minute drive. We would sing a lot of praise chorus but I also remember singing "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" only we would say "gas station man" because it wasn't uncommon to stop for gas on the way home and dad would get out to pump it and come and kiss mom. :)
Anyway, after the service, we went over to my sister Joanna's house for their annual Christmas Eve Party where we were able to snap a few pictures of the boys in their matching outfits...this was the best I got, sorry!

Christmas morning at my parents was a lot of fun...but I will have to say, almost overwhelming! We had 20 people, 8 of those being kids. The boys got a new jeep from Grandma and Grandpa Carr. I think it will get some use this summer!

Tyler opening new bath toys that he got from both Grandma and Aunt Jennifer! :)
4 generations...

We never know how much time we have left on this earth...Taking this generations picture has been something I have wanted to do since Tyler was born, but I've always been too busy or not dressed right or whatever...I always had an excuse. Well, just a few weeks ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with colon cancer...just yesterday she found out that there was a questionable spot on her lung where it may have metastasized. She is probably going to have the biopsy on that done tomorrow and will start chemo treatment, have surgery, and begin radiation all within the next few weeks. My grandmother has spoiled me rotten, dotted on me and my sisters, and is now doing the same for my son. I cherish the memories I have had with her and hope to make with her as my family grows. Although I am dressed in raggedy old jeans and a nasty hand me down long sleeve t-shirt, this picture will be one I will cherish for many years and I hope Tyler does as well. Please pray for my Nan Nan as she starts this difficult battle that she would have the encouragement, strength, and hope for each day that she needs.

Merry Christmas from the Schramm's

Random December Pictures

Sometimes I take a lot of pictures and other times I go weeks without lifting my camera. Perhaps I should learn to even that out a bit...anyway, these are just a bunch of random pictures taken in the month of December, mostly of Tyler of course...ENJOY!!
Tyler's first snow...it was only a dusting, but he seemed fascinated anywayMy Happy Boy!!!
He is getting up on all 4's now and scooting all over the place. I'll have to post a video or at least a picture of that later.

Our friends Joel and Cynetta had a Christmas party at their house a couple weeks ago. It was a lot of fun, however, we need a mansion to put all of us in!! We keep adding people and especially kids to the mix so we are running out of space! There is one thing missing from our group of friends though...this picture might shed some light on it...
or maybe this one...
See the problem?? Its the lack of girls!!! There is but 1 lone little rose among all those thorns!! :) Thankfully, Joe and Hope added at least some variety to the mix.And what a beautiful little princess at that!! Of course, I can't imagine where she gets it from. Look at her momma!!

I guess I should take that back...Dave and Amy have a daughter...she just didn't want to get in the picture as she is 20 years old. ;) Here is Dave hanging out with Tyler, losing his nose in the process.
This its time that maybe we lower Tyler's crib?
Tyler and his little girl friend, Sophie...his only girl friend. Maybe Cynetta will had another one to the mix in June...we'll find out in a month hopefully!!!

"Mom, is this how I am supposed to be gentle?"
Look at his little arm around her...SOO cute!!! She is only 2 months old so she can't always show her excitement on command, but believe me, she was ecstatic!! ;)More pictures and updates to come...these was just too random to add to another post.

A Wedding and Tyler's Baby Dedication

The first weekend of December, Tim and I had the opportunity to go to the wedding of a friend of mine from college, Beth. She was BEAUTIFUL and the wedding was just perfect. Tyler was beyond tired so this was the best picture we got with the newlyweds. Congratulations Beth!!

The very next day, Tyler, along with Sophie and Elijah, (2 of our friends baby's) was dedicated at church. Let me clarify what that means for us. We do not believe that this gets him to heaven or provides any means of salvation. There was no type of baptism or sprinkling or anything like that. We dedicate him for our own benefit...to ask for help from our family, friends, and church family to raise him to love the Lord and serve Him with his life. I was thankful my parents were able to come for it, however, of course, no pictures of them.

We are so thankful for Tyler and the blessing that he has been in our lives. We do pray that we would be given the wisdom in how to raise him to love the Lord and to one day accept Him as his personal Savior. I feel so inadequate with this task but I am grateful that we serve a faithful God who has not given up on me yet and I know will be patient with Tyler as well. As a newborn and even the first 6 months of Tyler's life, it was hard to even imagine that he was born a filthy rotten sinner just like the rest of us because he seemed so perfect and innocent. However, he IS starting to show some of that little rebellious personality already and a constant reminder to me that we ALL need a Savior and fall short. We covet your prayers as we strive to raise Tyler to love and respect the Lord!

Thanksgiving in California

Well, its been awhile since I updated...almost 2 months to be exact! It has been an incredibly busy 2 months too. I will go back all the way to Thanksgiving. Bear with me as I try to remember all thats taken place since then! I know I do most of my updating on facebook. It really is a lot easier to use, however, I like the personal aspect of this blog if for no other reason than for myself to be able to look back and reflect on the little details of our lives!
Over Thanksgiving, we made the VERY long trip to California, Tyler's first time on a plane. For the most part, he did a good job for being only 6 months old at the time. He just doesn't sleep well being held or with a bunch of noisy kids around so his naps were short to say the least. 5 hours and 15 minutes is too long for even me to be on a plane, let alone a baby!

He slept best in Daddy's arms for sure.

Other than Tim's parents, it was the first time any of them had ever seen Tyler, so it was fun to show him off There was A LOT of family as the primary reason for going out there was to celebrate Tim's Grandmother's 80th birthday. 30+ people I believe...here, everyone is watching the Really Brother's Band preform.

The band...from left to right, Jack Schramm (Tim's dad), Glen Schramm (Uncle), and Larry Schramm (Uncle)...see they really are the Really Brother's band!

Grandma Schramm with all six of her kids

Happy 80th!!!

4 Generations on the Schramm side

Meeting Grandma Dunkel for the first time

4 Generations on the Dunkel side

Sorry for the dark picture but here Tyler is enjoying Grandpa Schramm playing a little accordion...

Until he had enough

We were able to go up to Tim's parents ranch which is also one of my favorite parts about being in California...its so quiet and peaceful...Tyler spent a little time romping around in this very old and outdated but still functioning stroller that used to be Tim and his brother's. It made me chuckle.

Anyway, we did have a good visit but as always, there is no place like home. We were thankful for our time spent out there and for family to share it with. Who knows when we will brave that flight again...maybe sometime in the spring when its the prettiest out there.
