Tyler's Bike Wreck

Its been almost 2 weeks ago now that Tyler had his first "major" bike accident.  He was at our neighbors house, Mr. Jay and Mrs. Nancy's and was apparently riding a tricycle on the top of a hill and tipped making him and the bike go rolling down the hill.  The bike made it all the way down the hill and into the creek but Tyler stopped somewhere in the middle, at least, as far as we can tell.  He wasn't wet. As you can see, it looks like he got the handlebars or maybe the tire? to his face/mouth.  His front teeth were pushed back and were quite loose and he had a couple tears to his gum line.  He couldn't bite anything with his front teeth for about a week and they are still a bit loose, even now.  They have firmed up quite a bit though and for that I am sooo thankful.  I was sooo afraid he was going to lose them early!  Thankfully they haven't turned grey or black yet and the dentist said that at this point, there is really nothing they can do.  I guess there is a reason why God let us have two sets of teeth. :)

Megan wanted to show me her boo boo too...
Yeah, I can't see it either. :)

Having Daughters

You would think that being one of 4 girls, I would know better about how to raise a girl, but in fact, I feel lost!!  Especially when it comes to their hair.  I've been trying to learn and trying to try different things with Megan's hair, but usually I just end up frustrated and so does she.  I can never get anything to look right.  Pigtais, pony tails, and a side pony are pretty much the only thing I can make look right.  I've been trying stuff like this lately.
And, its cute and all but still doesn't seem to look right to me.
I will say though, that this hairstyle does last longer and stays put better than pig tails or pony tails, even through nap time.
With two daughters, I guess I will learn eventually...and maybe it will get easier when their hair is a little longer.  But for now, you'll just have to bear with my attempts. :)

Morgan loves bath time!

I remember Tyler getting baths like every other night...Morgan, however, is lucky if she gets one a week. :)  Oh how she loves them though!  Check out the video below!
Also, do you notice her hair?! Its crazy long for a 4 month old!

Sleeping babies

Nighttime is a stressful time at our house...with Tim being gone almost every night of the week, I am solo to give baths, read books, read our Bible story, brush teeth, feed Morgan, straighten up, pick up toys, etc.  The nights when everything goes smoothly and everyone goes to bed happy are so few and far between. It is quite discouraging, I have to admit.  I so long for Tim to be home in the evenings.  Its not all bad though.  It definitely is a feeling of accomplishment when I close the doors to quiet, sleeping children and breathe that sigh of relief.  Last night, we had a really good evening.  The kids were extra tired from not having afternoon naps so we had baths and were ready for bed early which gave us more time for reading and just cuddling on the floor.  It was such a pleasant evening that for the first time, I MIGHT have understood the "Love You Forever" book. (I mean, what mother creeps in her grown sons window to be able to rock him as he sleeps?!) I did have to go in their rooms just to peak though...and I did climb up to the top bunk to see my sweet Tyler. :)
Megan is our difficult child right now...not gonna lie. But MY how I LOVE her when she sleeps. ;)  In all seriousness though, Megan is a sweetie in disguise. Do you see how she is holding her left arm in this picture?  Thats where her "KoKo" goes...me turning on the light made her roll over and KoKo didn't roll with her. :)
Sigh...oh my sweet Morgan...my little Momma's girl. Your smile brightens my days but this sight warms my heart in ways that words can't describe.
Thank you Lord for these beautiful gifts you have entrusted to me. Help me to raise them to honor You.

Movie Day!

Just a few days before Megan was born, we took Tyler to his first movie, Toy Story 3. He made it through about half of it before Tim had to take him out.  We hadn't been back since until just a couple weeks ago. We went to the cheap theater and saw Madacascar 3 in 3D.  The 3D part we didn't know about until after we got there...we probably won't do that again.  The glasses were hard to keep on the kids little faces and gave me a headache.  Other than that though, the kids loved it and saw still the whole time.  Morgan slept almost the whole time and we had the entire theater to ourselves.  Definitely will be something we do again next time there is a fun/clean movie playing.  Needless to say, the kids fell asleep on the way home. :)

Love how you can see the drool coming down Tyler's face :)
She has such beautiful eye lashes.  I don't know what I am going to do with this baby girl when she hits her teens.  She is a beaut! (bias opinion of course ;) )

Firetruck Day

This month in preschool, Tyler has been learning about fire safety.  Earlier this week, a firetruck came to school and he got to see the ins and outs of the truck, see how everything worked and even got a cool fireman hat! :)  I couldn't miss the photo op and love to be a part of Tyler's schooling whenever I can so our whole family joined in on the fun. :)

Lovin his new hat

They had to stand back away from the truck when he turned on his siren, but the kids loved it anyway!
Tyler and his buddy, Grant

Megan got a hat too!

I think I might have to take the kids to the fire station sometime when it can just be the two of them so that they can play inside more. I was disappointed that all the kids got to do was walk through.  I think it would be so fun for them to be able to sit in the drivers seat next to all those buttons and knobs and maybe even get the chance to try on the fireman gear. :)

A few favorites

I can not begin to express how much I LOVE Morgan's head of hair.  I don't do much to it so it is normally all over the place, sticking straight up, but when I do add a little headband or bow, it is so pretty! :)
 My two year old
The whole family came with me one evening on one of my photoshoots so Tyler had to bring his camera too. He was snapping pictures left and right. :)

Got a few fun candids of the kids

Morgan and her beautiful baby blues
 Such a happy girl!
My good looking husband and beautiful daughter..
This girl just melts in her Daddy's arms...I love that because of Tim's size, Megan will always be able to curl up and be cradled in her Daddy's arms. I know this is true because Tim still makes me feel small :)
Rare picture of me (compliments of Tim's dad) but I love it!  My sweet baby Morgan!

When friends come to visit...

Got to babysit a few extra kiddos a couple weeks ago.  You would think that having 6 kids would be more stressful but in fact, it makes it easier!  More kids for mine to play with. :)  Here are a few pictures I got of them playing.

Grace
Tyler and Benjamin and their little toy guns :)

uh oh!  I think he got me!
And, off into the woods they go, to find some lions, tigers, and bears :)
Pretty sure she would have played in this bird bath all evening
Benjamin was showing me the teeny tiny tiger they found
Can't you see it?  its right there in his hand ;)
 my blue eyed handsome man
Benjamin just turned 4...here he is showing me
I didn't get many of Noah...he was busy with Tim building a sword  (Which he was using to chop down some bushes here ;) )
Not sure where Megan was either...maybe still napping?  Oh well.  You get the idea that they had fun!
