Trash Day find

Trash day is one of my favorite days of the week because you never know what treasures you might see in someone else's trash! :)  We found this in our neighbors trash and had to snag it!
It is a bassett piece of furniture, which, from what I have seen online, is a fairly nice furniture company.  Though its not solid wood, it is made well, according to Tim, and is pretty sturdy.  We don't currently need a dresser so we decided to just refinish it and try to sell it.  This is what Tim did to it.

Looks pretty nice if you ask me!  Though, I think if we were to do it again, I would have him paint the white part more cream in color, distress it a bit, and then call it good. :)  I also would have picked different handles, but this still looks nice.  We are hoping to at least get $50 out of it, but we currently have it listed for around $125.  We'll see what happens!

*edit*  We made $100 on it!

Morgan ~3 months~

Now that Morgan is 4 months old, I am FINALLY getting her pictures posted. :)  I so wanted to take her pictures outside but the weather just wasn't cooperating and when I actually was able to take them, she wasn't interested. :)  I managed to get a couple outside, but definitely not ones that really show her personality.

Pretty in purple!
 tired baby girl
Mom, can you just leave me alone so I can sleep in peace?
 "Seriously Mom! You're STILL there?"
I finally gave up trying to get them outside because I knew she would give her biggest smiles inside where the light wasn't so bright.  And, as you can see below, I was right!  Morgan is such a sweet, happy baby and fills our lives with coos and giggles.

 :)
 One of my favorites
She smiles with her eyes the most.

 I love this one too!

Morgan is also our little thumb sucker.  She cuddles with a little bear, sucks her thumb and is just TOO sweet for this mama!
She rolls over constantly from her belly to her back, but hasn't quite got from her back to her belly yet. She definitely prefers her belly and it almost seems like we have to force her to do more back time than tummy time. :)  She still sleeps 12 hours at night and naps for a total of 6 hours during the day with 3, 2 hour naps.  She is super social and always wants to know what is going on so she has to sleep in a quiet room by herself or she doesn't sleep.  Going out to dinner, the mall, or really anywhere where she can't have that quiet, still environment, makes her miserably tired because she doesn't want to miss out on anything.  That is the only negative I have to say about her.  She does have some reflux issues, but for now, we are trying to avoid medication. She has dropped from the 90% to 40% in weight which has the doctor a little concerned, but I honestly am not concerned at all about it. She is happy, rarely cries because she is hungry and just seems more like she is going to be tall and skinny like her Daddy and brother.  She loves to chew on anything, especially her bear and blanket, but her Daddy seems to enjoy putting his finger in her mouth for her to gnaw on. (EWW!) She loves her brother and sister and her face just lights up when they are playing nearby.  She is a joy to our lives and I look forward to watching her grow up!  We are so thankful for our little 3rd born blessing!

A little glimpse of life at our house

Both Megan and Tyler love Morgan.  They get excited when she gets up in the morning or from her naps.  They smother her with kisses and hugs and "play" with her as best they can right now.  I think that she will fit right in, especially the older she gets!  I was worried since there was such a big age gap between her and Megan in comparison to Tyler and Megan's 14 months. I can't wait till she is sitting up because it will really allow her to play with them a lot more!

Tyler got a book from the book shelf, laid down beside Morgan (who was doing some tummy time, which she loves!), and started "reading" it to her.  SOOO sweet!  Tim snapped this picture quick in hopes to not miss out on the moment, so its not perfect in quality, but oh was it a precious moment!
Morgan, our super smiley, sweet baby girl! This little one is super social and wants to know what is going with people around her.  For this reason, she won't sleep in public.  The latter part is frustrating, but I will never tire of her smiles!
Everything about this video is common at our house...Tyler and Megan singing with their "microphones" on the fireplace hearth pad, Morgan lying on the floor trying not to miss anything, and Tim grabbing the vacuum cleaner and sweeping the floor just because it needs done, not because I asked him at all. Love all that this video shows!

Morgan's Baby Dedication

This past Sunday, we had Morgan's baby dedication at our church.  I have been meaning to schedule it for a long time and finally remembered a few weeks ago to set it up.  My parents were even able to come!  That in itself was a special event as they are not able to leave home together very often!

A baby dedication at our church does nothing for any type of eternal security for Morgan.  We believe that is done ONLY by believing that by GRACE we are saved.  Nothing we do or ever will do will contribute to Morgan's salvation.  She must make the choice, and we pray she does it at an early age, to trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross.  By us dedicating her to Lord, we are asking for His guidance and making the commitment to raise her to the best of our ability to love the Lord.  We ask our church family to go along side us in that commitment, to keep us accountable.

Without further ado, here is some pictures from Sunday.

She was so pretty in her dress!
The kids did fairly well considering they had to behave for longer than 1 minute. :)

Thanks for snapping the pictures for us, Cynetta!

Megan And Her "Bling"

Megan has recently started to REALLY enjoy playing with her jewelry.  She LOVES just putting it on, taking it off, putting it on, taking it off...its so sweet!

Maybe there is a chance she could become a girly girl afterall!

And, a couple flowers we planted this year are making it!  They struggled all summer because of the lack of water and heat but they officially survived and are doing well now!  Pictures courtesy of Tim. :)

Happy Birthday, Daniel!

Several weeks ago now, the kids and I headed to WV for a weekend with my family.  It was Daniel's birthday weekend and so it was full of fun activities!  I didn't take many pictures (my hands were full with 3 kids without Tim!) but here are the ones I took at Daniel's birthday party.

The kids with the painting shirts on
Painting their cars (it was a car themed party!)

This was such a fun thing for the kids to do!  Definitely going to have to do something similar for a party sometime.
  "Cheese!"
The egg-less cake!  Since Daniel is allergic to eggs, Stephanie has to make his cake every year.  She always does such a great job!  I don't have the patience to do what she does.  This literally took her hours!
 pretty cute though, huh!
My favorite part of birthdays!  Singing happy birthday! The look on a child's face is always so priceless when they have that moment where they realize that its all about them.  Daniel's was no disappointment.  See the progression in pics below.

 Happy 4th Birthday, Daniel!
 Megan's new bling...thanks Daniel!
 Opening presents

again, priceless expressions :)

the paint is dry, time to race those cars!

Megan found her car to race! ;)
 Go!

I didn't get any pictures at the pool this time (3 kids that can't swim at the pool will do that to ya!) but did manage a few others of the kids just having fun at Grandma and Grandpas.

And, we finished out the weekend with THE best fireworks I have ever seen at the Sternwheeler festival.  Definitely plan to make that event again!
Ignore Megan's boy clothes...it was cooler than expected and all I had for her was shorts!  Thanks for letting us borrow the outfit, Joanna!
