Megan's First Braid

My aunt, who teaches herself how to do just about anything (crochet, sew, play the piano, etc) is one of the best french braiders I know. :)  So, now that Megan's hair is STARTING to be long enough, I had to have her attempt her first french braid.  I have GOT to learn how to do it!  Anyway, the result was very cute, but far from perfect...I think her hair could stand to get a little longer before attempting again. :)

:)  Grow quickly little fine, straight hair.  We have many cute things to try!

Happy 80 years, Nan Nan!

This past Saturday was my Grandmother's 80th birthday.  My parents had a surprise open house party for her.  She was truly surprised and the party was just wonderful!  My parents, of course, did a fabulous job with a huge spread of food.  I think it might have been the first party they have had in their new kitchen and room addition as well.

Singing Happy Birthday :)
enjoying some cake!
She got to visit with family she hasn't seen in awhile and friends that came all the way from Charleston just for her special day!

I was trying to get a picture of Cherith's adorable curls.  Wish Megan had even just a LITTLE bit of that!
:)

Fun at Grandma and Grandpa's!

I always look forward to trips to my parents house...its always a relaxing time and of course, spending time with family is always priceless.  Here's some snapshots of some of the fun we had.

Megan was snuggling with my dad. She wasn't moving an inch and just looked sooo comfy.  I used to be that little snuggling with him too. <3
Grandma is good at getting the boys extra wild.  But wrestling with boys is something she never got to do with 4 daughters!  The boys love it too. :)
please excuse Daniel's lack of pants :P
I love my mom's face on this one.  I also love that Daniel and Andrew are both in the back taking a water break. :)
Cherith definitely wasn't sure what to think about all these boys wrestling!
My mom grabbed Megan, who usually loves to wrestle with Mommy and Daddy at home...
I think she was less than impressed :)
The boys were all singing a song.  I don't remember which one it was now, but it was really cute
A good cousin picture we know is impossible, so we just settle for pictures like these instead :)  Spinning all 5 together in a chair
Thought this was a cute picture of Andrew and Daniel playing together.  I think they were actually both playing nice!
Both Megan and Tyler have taken an increased interest in reading books and LOVE being read to.  Couldn't help but take this picture of them being read to by Grandpa.  He always makes the best sound affects :)
I love my family and am so thankful for these times we can spend together!  Already can't wait for the next time!!  I'm thinking about having Tyler's birthday party at my parents house...hmmm  Maybe a spring pool party! :)

Fun at the park with Andrew

A week ago, the kids and I left for my parents house for an extended weekend visit.  The time away was SOOO desperately needed and spending it with family was just perfect.  We got to WV just in time for lunch on Wednesday so after a brief visit at my sister's house, we (my sister Joanna, Andrew, Baby K, my mom, and the kids and I) headed to Pizza Hut for the all you can eat buffet. :) Then we headed to the park to run off some of those carbs.  Well, at least the kids had a chance to run it off. :P  The boys were almost impossible to get pictures of because they were SOOO all over the place, but Megan cooperated!
The quality of these pics are awful, but I couldn't help but post.  Her excitment is certainly written all over her face!  I don't think that smile could get any bigger!
There are just some things that little girls do that little boys could never do that is this cute.  I mean, just check out her little foot turning in...sooo cute!
Ok, maybe its just because I'm her mom. :)

The boys were so funny going down the slide backwards :)

See, another cute girl moment...her little bottom sticking out peeking through the holes...hehe
So thankful for the somewhat warm weather so that we could enjoy the park for a bit. I can not WAIT for spring!!

A little swimming fun!

Since we had to postpone/cancel our vacation to Florida a couple weeks ago, I have been BEGGING Tim to take the kids to the local rec center where they have a zero entry pool and fun water stuff for the kids to play with.  He finally agreed to go and we had sooo much fun!  So much fun, in fact, that we got hardly any pics.  I literally took these as we were getting out to at least capture the time. :)  The kids LOVED it (which means, we loved it) and the only downside was that the water was just a little cold for them, especially zero body fat Tyler.  He literally turned purple!  He was shivering so hard he could hardly stand but cried when we told him it was time to get out.

A think another trip is in our future soon!

Lego Fun!

Both of the kids have really been into playing with the mega blocks lately.  Tyler loves to build tall towers, especially when Daddy helps him make them EXTRA big!  These pictures below are priceless...his face in every single one of them could tell a story.  The last one, however, is my absolute favorite.  It SCREAMS the joy of being a boy. ;)  See for yourself!

Michael Jackson would be proud.

Adorable Little Faces!

Tyler and Megan will do all sorts of silly faces on command.  Mostly, its happy face, sad face, scared face, and stinker face.  One night while in the bath, I captured them doing both their happy and sad faces together.  After these two, one or the other would lose interest and so I gave up. :)  Enjoy these two though!

Happy Faces!
 Sad Faces
Their stinker faces, aka ROTTEN faces are the best!  I'll have to work on capturing that one too. :)
