My parents got this really cute recliner for Tyler for Christmas. At first, I was overwhelmed with the gift, wondering where in the world we were going to put it, but then I set up our little kids reading wall and it fits perfectly. Also, this week, Megan confirmed that it was the perfect place to rest while getting better from being sick. Megan has had too many ear infections to count but this past one was probably her worst yet. Fevers of 103-105 for 3 days straight, even with motrin and tylenol given around the clock and a bulging and puss filled ear drum. After getting her up from her nap one day after giving motrin only a few hours prior (it should last for 6-8 hours) and her temp was still 105, I have to admit, made me a bit nervous. So, she was stripped and given some cold fluids to drink and "encouraged" to take it easy for awhile. Even though she will run around and laugh and play with a fever, I think 105 did her in and this was how we found her.
Poor baby! So glad she is on the mend now and we have enjoyed some quiet, blissful nights the past few nights. :) I'm starting to wonder if there is truth to the old wives tale about keeping ears covered in the winter time to prevent ear infections because she hadn't had a cough, or runny nose or anything. Hmm...
