Some funny stuff

I had to write this stuff down.  Tyler has done some funny stuff today, along with being incredibly disobedient...but anyway, we will focus on the funny stuff for now. :)

Each time we discipline the kids, we always make sure we have eye contact with them and that they say "Yes, Mommy" or "Yes, Daddy" to make sure that they acknowledge what they've been told.  While I was changing the laundry over down the hall, I heard Megan playing with something she wasn't supposed to in the living room.  Since I really couldn't drop what I was doing at the time, I just said "Megan, No No!" to which about 10-15 seconds later, I was able to come out and officially make sure she had stopped.  I came in to see Tyler with his hands gently on Megan's cheeks (demanding eye contact) saying "No No, Megan. Say, Yes, Bubby." :) The best part was that she actually nodded yes, just like she does with Mommy and Daddy.

While wrestling with Tyler today before nap time, he said, "I am going to run away from you, Mommy!" I said, "You can't get away from me silly boy!" After a few more minutes, he did manage to run away to which he yelled behind him as he ran, "Can't catch me, Grandma!"  I'm not sure who should be more insulted...me or Grandma! :)

This happened today but also happens most other days.  Tyler's new way of tattling is coming to either Tim or I and saying "Want to see what Megan is doing?"

During one of the many discipline sessions today, I had Tyler turn around by his bed where he always stands to get spanked and he said in a completely calm voice, "Just a little spank, Mommy."

We've had to give Tyler time limits at meal times (actually setting timers) to give him a little motivation because he is a ridiculously slow eater.  Today at lunch, Tyler and Megan were just finishing up their dessert of animal crackers (strapped to their booster seats, my second most favorite place for them to be, first being their beds) when I sat down to eat my lunch.  Tyler said, "Mommy, I want to get down."  To which I said, "Not yet, buddy.  Mommy needs to finish her lunch first." To which he said "Mommy, you have THREE minutes!"

I absolutely love this stage that he is in and am excited for Megan to get to this stage too.  I love the way their little minds work!! :)
