While we were in California, Tyler discovered how interesting cows were. He was absolutely fascinated by them and whenever we saw them even somewhat close, he wanted to get closer. If we told him no that was the end of the world and he would almost get hysterical. So, the day before we left, we took him as close as we could to see the cows. The funny thing was, the closer we got, the more terrified he got!
He got to the point where he wouldn't go any closer on his own, so Tim took him. From back where I was standing (to capture pics of course!) I heard Tyler say "thats close enough, Daddy." Tyler just stood there mesmerized, almost numb in his tracks.
So Tim set Megan down and the two of them stood there watching the cows with the cows staring back at them.
I'm not sure who was more scared, the kids or the cows! :)
Finally, Tyler had enough of THOSE cows and wanted to go find some more. They all look the same to me! Anyway, we ended up just taking a nice walk around Tim's parents property enjoying the warmer weather than we had at home and the fresh air. To say Megan loves riding on her Daddy's shoulders would be an understatement!
We walked through the Eucalyptus trees to which Megan giggled so sweetly because of how it tickled her face.
played a little peak-a-boo...
and just enjoyed our time as a family with zero stresses from normal life. I personally could watch my wonderful husband interacting with our children all day long. <3 The way he can see through their eyes during play and play right along is so sweet. When I married him almost 7 years ago, I never knew all the wonderful things I was getting in a husband. The list keeps building up and I am increasingly more amazed that I was blessed with him as a husband.
Tim's parents have this big wooden swing at their house that is perfect for even more than one person to swing on at the same time. The kids LOVED it! And, by the look on his face, Tim did too. :)
Our time in California was, as usual, wonderful. Of course there were frustrations with a 3 hour time change, tired kids, and just a different schedule from the norm, but as the pictures show, we had a great time. We would go through the horrible flying experiences all over again in a heartbeat for another chance at some vacation time at the ranch with family. Though we may not actually get to go to the ranch, we are going to be headed out there again this summer to celebrate the marriage of Tim's brother Jon and his new wife Amanda! We already can't wait to celebrate this with them even if we will be traveling with 3, 3 and under. Shew! :)
